WELCOME 🚚
Hi! I want to welcome you to the 1st issue of My Favorite Food Truck Newsletter! You’re in at the very beginning, and I want to say THANK YOU again.
The service I am using to publish this newsletter is new to me, and I’ll work out the kinks, but it won’t stop me from sharing marketing information that can help your business grow.
You can expect to see guides, lists, and ebooks in future newsletter posts that will go into detail on mobile marketing, so buckle up!
In this issue, I would like to address pain points when it comes to getting more engagement on your social media.
🚚 FOOD TRUCK OF THE WEEK *Example
Rob’s Shaved Ice — Conway, Missouri
Any image of you and your food truck will go here. I have mentioned the importance of the example I’ll give you below, but I really want you to see what it will look like when you are featured in Food Truck Of The Week.

If I own a food truck in the future, it will look something like this.
• His Setup: Rob set up with a shaved ice trailer, Compact / Single-Operator (6' × 10')
• What He’s Nailing: Rob focused on patriotic and American branding. He uses a QR code visible at customer eye level with a call to action: “Follow Me For A Discount!” He promotes this on his social media page. Rob’s customers are instantly motivated to trade a follow for a discount. His core menu structure is: 1. Choose Your Size, 2. Pick Your Flavors, 3. Add Your Extras
• The Takeaway: Rob took advantage of the dead space on his shaved ice trailer to turn his waiting customers into active social media followers he can market future setups to. His menu structure is simple and easy to understand.

📈 ROB'S MARKETING PLAYBOOK
Want to see more engagement on your social media?
THE PROBLEM:
You get set up, everything is ready, and you post on social media that you are open, but you see very little activity. You might wonder if anyone even saw your post. What can you do to get more engagement?
HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM:
Get people to comment with the “Secret Word” perk.
You can do more than just announce you’re open. Give people a reason to comment with a specific word on your post. You can tell them to respond with an emoji too. Inform them that when they comment, it will “unlock” a secret discount or something free, like an add-on when they get to your truck. The platform you are using, like Facebook, will make a note of the comment activity and push your post into more local feeds.Use an interactive poll on your Story or a countdown sticker.
Social media platforms make interactive content more important than other content. After you post your location to your Stories, add a Poll or question sticker. The Poll sticker could say “Coming by for lunch? YES / FOR SURE” or a Question sticker that asks your followers what they are craving. When people respond to your interactive content, the platform sees this as high engagement and will make your Story more visible in the feeds of your followers.Leverage the “Tag-a-Friend” call to action by tagging local handles.
When you create a post, be sure to tag a business, park, or area where you’re parked. Tag local community pages too. In your post, tell followers to tag a co-worker or friend that is in the area. This is organic word-of-mouth marketing that will help new local customers discover your location.

⚡ QUICK BITES
• 📰 Industry News: New handheld checkout devices now let you take card payments even without cell service, and they automatically broadcast your exact location to local hungry customers on food truck apps. Plus, simple text-to-order systems let your customers buy their food on their phones ahead of time, shortening your line and speeding up service. Video
• 🍽️ Menu & Pricing: Use Tiered "Anchor" Pricing
Instead of just selling a basic item, list 3 tiers of the same item right on your menu board:
Basic: Simple burger ($8)
Standard: Cheeseburger ($10)
Deluxe/Signature: Bacon & Avocado Cheeseburger ($12)
When people see three options, the middle or top option naturally feels like the best value. Most customers won't want the plainest version and will willingly spend $2–$4 more for the "fully loaded" tier without feeling pushed.
• 🔧 Gear & Tech Pick: If you want reliable, quiet power without breaking the bank, Harbor Freight’s Predator inverter generators (like the 3500 or 9500) are tough to beat. They cost less than half of what you'd pay for a Honda, but they still deliver super-quiet operation and great fuel efficiency.
If you buy Harbor Freight’s extended warranty and your generator dies, you can usually walk into a store and swap it for a brand-new one the same day instead of waiting weeks for repairs.
💬 FOOD TRUCK MAILBAG (Q&A)
Q: "How can I set up an automated, low-friction system that instantly syncs my changing daily location across Google, social media, and a customer SMS alert club without spending hours on my phone every morning?"
— Rob from Conway, Mo./Rob’s Shaved Ice
A: Use tools like StreetFoodFinder or Roaming Hunger to push your location to multiple maps at the same time. Put one Dynamic QR code on your truck that always links to your current live location, and set up your text message system to automatically blast your location to nearby fans the moment you park.
