WELCOME AGAIN 🚚
Hi! Welcome to the 2nd issue of My Favorite Food Truck Newsletter! Hopefully the weather has been cooperating with you. Here in the Ozarks, the hot weather is still around but not slowing us down.
If you missed the recent FREE product launch of PARKED TO BOOKED: The Strategic Google Business Profile Playbook for Food Truck Operators, you can download it here on our Products Page.
Playbook Description:
The exact step-by-step Google Maps playbook that mobile food operators are using to lock down the #1 spot in local search, fill daily lunch lines, and book high-margin private catering on autopilot.
It is surprising how many food trucks are NOT using a Google Business Profile to promote their business.
In this issue, we will cover how a Google Business Profile can help your food truck and why it’s the very first thing you should do online when working with your mobile marketing, but first let’s take a look at FOOD TRUCK OF THE WEEK!

Kneading Joy — Marshfield, Missouri

Our Story
My name is Lori, and my husband, Brandon, and I are proud to be local veteran owners of Kneading Joy LLC, a cottage bakery based in Marshfield, Missouri.
Baking and cooking have always been a passion of mine. I truly believe God has blessed me with a gift for preparing food and bringing people together around the table. Over the years, I have had the privilege of cooking for numerous gatherings, church events, and community functions. Feeding a crowd has always come naturally to me, and that love for serving others ultimately became the inspiration behind Kneading Joy.
Kneading Joy was established in August 2023. We began our journey with a simple tent at the Marshfield Farmers Market, along with a few local vendor fairs. As our customer base grew, so did our business. We quickly outgrew our original tent setup and took the next step by creating our own mobile storefront.
Our new mobile storefront provides a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for both our customers and our family. With heating and air conditioning, we are able to operate more consistently throughout the year and serve our community almost weekly right here in Marshfield.
While we love being a part of our local community, we also enjoy traveling to area festivals and special events throughout the year. We are excited to participate in Marshfield Harvest Days on September 18–19 and the Feast of the Goblin King at WhiteHart Renaissance Faire on October 31.
At Kneading Joy, our goal is simple: to share delicious, homemade baked goods while bringing a little joy to the people and communities we serve. What began as a small tent at a local farmers market has grown into something we are incredibly grateful for, and we look forward to continuing to grow alongside the community that has supported us from the beginning.

Lori & Brandon are always smiling and friendly.

Welcome to bread heaven!

So many selections!

One of each, please!

Incredible sweets!

Cookie heaven too!
• Their Setup: A fully enclosed walk-in bakery trailer.
• Best-Selling Item: Bread in any flavor!
• What They’re Nailing: Instead of a standard serving window where customers stand outside on the pavement, Kneading Joy utilizes a fully enclosed walk-in bakery trailer. Customers actually step inside the climate-controlled trailer to browse their fresh-baked breads, cookies, and pastries right from the shelves. This gives customers the feeling of walking into a bake shop. Neon open sign included!
• Business Tips & Lessons:
Don’t let others try to squash your dreams!
Stay true to who you are no matter who is talking about you behind your back!
Don’t give up when things get a little difficult!
• The Takeaway: The entrance ramp is not slippery and is easy to walk up. Kneading Joy posts many pictures on their Facebook page for visitors to view. They also have a Google Business Profile with 5-star reviews. Bakery patrons enjoy this creative setup that is comfortable, and since it’s enclosed, the trailer keeps the wonderful smell of baked goods inside.

Why your Google Business Profile is driving (or losing) your daily foot traffic—and how to fix it fast.
THE PROBLEM:
When hungry customers search for "food near me" or "food trucks near me," Google Maps defaults to showing businesses with verified, active, and complete Google Business Profiles.
Most food trucks rely solely on social media. This leaves their Google Profile completely unoptimized, outdated, or pinned to a single static address. If your profile is missing key details or incorrectly listed, Google will suppress your listing. This will hide your truck from thousands of local, high-intent customers ready to eat right now.
HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM:
Fix Your Location Settings: Set your primary profile as a Service Area Business. Turn off your physical street address if you move daily, and select the specific cities or zip codes you serve so Google doesn't penalize your ranking when you change spots.
Lock In Your Business Hours: Match your daily operational hours to your actual service times. Google penalizes profiles that list erratic or missing hours by dropping them lower in local search results.
Name Your Core Keywords: Include your primary food category directly in your primary business category (Taco Truck, BBQ Restaurant, or Ice Cream Shop) rather than a generic label.
Upload High-Impact Photos Weekly: Post 3–5 fresh photos of your top-selling menu items and current setup directly to your profile. Google favors active profiles, and clear food visuals directly boost click-through rates.
Collect and Reply to Reviews: Send a quick link to happy customers, asking them to leave a 5-star review. Always reply to reviews using terms like "best food truck in [City Name]" to further signal your local relevance to Google's algorithm.

• 📰 Industry News: Mobile Order-Ahead Tech Becomes the New Benchmark
Many food trucks are using pre-ordering, and it’s becoming more popular. Brick-and-mortars are not the only ones using this ordering system. A growing number of food trucks are using geofenced order-ahead technology to let customers place orders with their phones. This can expand your customer base simply by allowing your customers to skip the physical line.
Services like Square Online or Toast Mobile Ordering are available. Easy Eats is specifically for food trucks. Maybe you are using one of these services.
Food trucks that can handle the workload enjoy this added service, and it may be overwhelming for other food trucks.
💬 FOOD TRUCK MAILBAG (Q&A)

Facebook Groups Question
Q: What drives more immediate line-ups at your pop-up location?
Answer A: Posting your full weekly location schedule 5 days in advance.
Answer B: Dropping a live "We're OPEN!" post/story 30 minutes before service starts.
A: We polled food truck pros to see what actually drives instant line-ups at pop-up locations. Here is how the votes broke down:
Option A: 5-Day Advance Schedule
Why it works: This captures planner traffic. Office workers and corporate groups organize lunch plans days in advance.
The drawback: Social algorithms move fast. A post seen Monday is easily forgotten by Friday.
Option B: 30-Minute Live "WE ARE OPEN!" Post
Why it works: It drives impulse buyers. Posting hot food photos right before service triggers immediate hunger and FOMO. (Fear Of Missing Out)
The drawback: You can miss out on catering or large group orders that require planning in advance.
The Hybrid Winner!
Top-performing food trucks don't choose—they combine both. Pin your weekly schedule to the top of your page on Monday for planners, then drop a 30-minute live story with appetite-appeal photos right before service to catch the impulse crowd.
